We are seeking a patient, motivated, and enthusiastic Speech and Language Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis starting January 2026. Role Overview As a Speech and Language LSA, you will work closely with teachers and external speech and language therapists to support pupils with communication needs. Your role will be essential in helping children develop their speech, language, and social communication skills while building confidence across their learning. Key Responsibilities Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group speech and language interventions Support pupils in developing expressive/receptive language, vocabulary, and social communication Use strategies such as visuals, modelling, repetition, and structured routines Assist in adapting learning materials to support communication needs Encourage positive interaction, engagement, and participation in lessons Work alongside teachers and specialists to implement therapy recommendations Track progress and share observations with staff Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and communication-friendly classroom environment Ideal Candidate Experience working with children with speech, language, or communication needs (school experience preferred) A calm, caring, and proactive approach Confident supporting pupils with varying levels of communication ability Strong understanding of inclusive practice and safeguarding Excellent communication and teamwork skills Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) What Supply Desk Offers Competitive daily rate: £90–£110 (dependent on experience) Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant Opportunities for permanent placement Access to wellbeing and mental health resources Term-time only position – with full school holidays off How to Apply Submit your application via or click ‘Apply Now’.
