GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and nurturing Behaviour Support Assistant to join schools in Derby from September 2025. This role is ideal for individuals who are confident, calm under pressure, and committed to helping young people succeed both emotionally and academically.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with challenging behaviour.
* Help implement behaviour management strategies and personalised support plans.
* Build positive relationships to boost students’ confidence and motivation.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to support learning and wellbeing.
* Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
To be a Behaviour Support Assistant, candidates will be required to:
* Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural, or additional needs.
* Be resilient, patient, and adaptable.
* Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Be able to manage behaviour calmly and effectively.
* Have a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of young people.
