This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the NHS Highland Moving and Handling Team. We are seeking a professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and relevant experience, to promote and deliver highquality Moving and Handling training, guidance and support for managers, staff and Moving and Handling Key Workers across our organisation.
As part of a dedicated and supportive team, the post holder will contribute to the development, coordination and delivery of staff education and training across both clinical and nonclinical settings. This includes designing and facilitating training programmes for a multidisciplinary workforce, auditing and evaluating practice, and providing expert advice in complex situations.
The role is central to NHS Highland's commitment to safer practice, helping to reduce musculoskeletal injury risks and ensuring compliance with legislation, policy and the NHS Highland Moving and Handling Procedure.
Key duties include:
designing and delivering training programmes, supporting and mentoring Moving and Handling Trainers and Keyworkers, providing expert advice and onsite guidance to managers and staff, auditing and evaluating practice, and contributing to the development of policy and procedures.
Essential Requirements
* Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant life science.
* Accredited teaching qualification.
* Knowledge and practical experience in the management of Moving and Handling risks and delivery of training.
* Strong IT and organisational skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Full driving licence
The role requires the ability to travel throughout NHS Highland, including to remote and rural locations with overnight stays, to meet the needs of the service. Applicants must have access to suitable transport for work purposes. Pool cars are available for longer journeys.
