A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a social worker to join Derbyshire's Kinship Assessment Team which is based within the Fostering Service. In this role you will contribute to the assessment, support, and supervision of Kinship Foster Carers and the ongoing development of the team, fostering service and Derbyshire's commitment to achieving good outcomes for children living with extended family and friends.
Responsibilities
* Complete robust and complex Kinship (Family and Friends) assessments (Fostering/SGO) in a timely manner.
* Support and train Family and Friends Carers.
* Participate in monthly reflective case supervision and initially work with a mentor.
* Collaborate with carers and colleagues to ensure children can safely live in homes that meet their needs and, where possible, remain within the wider family.
* Cover other areas in Derbyshire and outside the county as required.
Qualifications & Skills
* Strong assessment and analytical skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience of completing Form K or Form F Assessments is desirable but not essential.
* Commitment to working in partnership with carers and other colleagues.
