Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Yate Minor Injuries team as an Urgent Care Practitioner, managing presentations of minor injuries within a stand alone minor injuries unit. We strive to provide high quality, autonomous, evidence-based care, delivering advice and treatment to adults and children presenting to the UTC/MIU with minor injuries, illnesses and a wide range of complex / urgent undifferentiated conditions. You will act as day-to-day shift lead for the service, managing patient flow within the unit and executing escalation procedures to preserve service capacity. Open 7 days a week, 8am until 8pm, the team of Nurses, Paramedics and physiotherapists manage a busy department autonomously. Undertaking treatments including suturing, plastering, x-ray interpretation, prescribing and shift management. Making onward referrals to plastics trauma clinics, eye hospital, fracture clinic and emergency departments as needed. Managing shift to ensure smooth running of department. Supporting students and junior staff with their learning.
