Role Purpose As Senior Programme Manager, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the ATM scope of a complex, high-profile major airport expansion programme. This role is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring that the strategic objectives of NATS Services' Airport Partners are delivered and that programme benefits and outcomes are realised. You will be embedded with the customer and be expert in working in wider customer-led programme teams, ensuring that NATS interests are represented at senior stakeholder forums. Responsible for ensuring that NATS stakeholders understand the programme vision, benefits, risks, and the target operating model, including the gaps between current and future states, enabling effective detailed definition and design at its initiation, and at the start of each tranche. You will drive delivery through development and implementation of programme governance rigour, and lead a cross-functional NATS programme team, including suppliers, ensuring stakeholder alignment, and that projects deliver capabilities to enable programme outcomes to be transitioned into the airport and the ATM operation, whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence. Key Accountabilities Communicate and influence at all levels internally and within the customer's organisation (including C Suite) on programme direction and decision making Define and maintain an integrated programme delivery plan, capturing all dependencies both internally and externally Develop and deliver commercial proposals to the customer, for projects supporting the programme objectives, aligned with customer and NATS' commercial governance frameworks Ensure contracts are profitable and meet revenue targets for the UK P&L, also monitoring and reporting overall performance of the programme, including internal/external stakeholder engagement, risk management and benefits realisation Develop the business case, through the definition of programme scope, objectives, and success criteria in alignment with customer and business goals. Oversee the full lifecycle of programmes, from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic and portfolio priorities Lead large, multidisciplinary teams to deliver on complex objectives Build and maintain relationships with key partners, customers, suppliers, governmental bodies and critical stakeholders/stakeholder groups Develop comprehensive programme strategies and plans, including delivery, benefits realisation, stakeholder engagement and communication, assurance, financial, resources, risk and contingency Drive continuous improvement & analysis within the programme Establish and maintain programme governance framework to ensure robust oversight and accountability Ensuring that contracts/projects within the programme are delivered to meet schedule, quality, safety, financial and customer satisfaction targets Provide regular updates to NATS senior leadership, highlighting risks, achievements, and recommendations Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards across all programme activities Inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the programme teams Qualifications, Skills, and Personal Attributes Relevant business-based qualification at degree level or higher, with evidence of continued professional development. Hold a Practitioner level Programme Management related qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 Programme Manager / MSP Practitioner Certificate in Programme Management) Attained or working towards Chartered Engineer or Chartered Project Professional status is desirable. Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate multi-discipline teams to achieve common goals and outcomes. Proven track record in delivering complex, multi-stakeholder programmes in a fast-paced commercial environment. Prior experience of delivering programmes in a safety critical environment (ATM / Air Traffic / Aviation experience preferred, but not essential). Excellent communication (written and verbal), negotiation, influencing and presentations skills. Due to thesize and complexity of the programme the post holder is required to engage with senior/executive management levels internally and externally Highly self-motivated and able to work with a high degree of autonomy to achieve tactical outcomes and strategic objectives. A proven track record of leading and developing complex project/programme competences in in cross functional and virtual team environment.
