The Environmental Lead is the focal point for the provision of technical support in the management of environmental compliance across Wood’s Operated Assets operations. They are responsible for driving continuous improvement and promoting the highest standards of environmental stewardship as well as building an exemplary environmental reputation for Wood in the eyes of key stakeholders.
The Environmental Lead is also responsible for supporting the implementation of Wood’s environmental strategy and HSSE Policy obligations and supporting the Environmental Manager in implementing and maintaining the Environmental Standards across the EMEA business.
The post holder will be an enthusiastic environmental professional with a high level of operational experience, preferably in the offshore and onshore oil and gas industry and have a thorough understanding of the UK environmental regulatory regime. Knowledge in the Energy Transition would also be desirable.
1. Support the awareness and implementation of Wood’s environmental strategy and approach to environmental management including the implementation of Wood’s Environmental Standards.
2. Focal point for the provision of technical environmental support and management of environmental compliance across the EMEA business.
3. Leading continuous environmental improvement / best envionrmental practice throughout the EMEA business.
4. Leading the delivery of training as required.
5. Providing support to senior Managers in incident and accident investigations through the use of an appropriate Investigation process (. Helix or Taproot)
6. Providing direction to the team of Environmental Advisors and mentorship as appropriate.
7. Responsible for strategic EMEA environmental assurance plan,. waste management.
8. Participating in industry working groups representing Wood and reviewing / implementing best industry practice measures where appropriate within the business.
9. Focal point for Energy Transition within Environmental Team.
10. Providing bid tender support.
11. Providing stretegic support for ISO14001 for sites outwith Operated Assets.
12. Supporting the Environmental Manager in undertaking Management Support Visits.
13. Monitoring environmental performance across the EMEA business and implementing improvements as appropriate.
Qualifications :
Essential:
14. Trained and competent Internal Auditor.
15. Root Cause Analysis – Accident/incident Investigator,. Helix/Taproot
