Senior Electrical Engineer / Commissioning Manager
The chosen candidate will oversee the full lifecycle of electrical and ICA (Instrumentation, Control & Automation) systems across water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You’ll act as the technical authority, giving product work the final go-ahead and ensuring all commissioning activities meet design intent, safety standards, and client requirements.
Salary & Package: Competitive salary up to £75,000 (dependant on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead electrical design reviews and provide technical oversight throughout project delivery.
* Manage commissioning activities for electrical and control systems on water and wastewater projects.
* Authorise and sign-off product work prior to client handover.
* Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, and process engineers.
* Develop commissioning plans, procedures, and risk assessments.
* Troubleshoot and resolve site-based technical issues during installation and commissioning.
* Ensure compliance with BS7671, IEC standards, and relevant water company specifications.
* Support the continuous improvement of PDAS’s electrical standards, testing documentation, and delivery processes.
* Mentor junior engineers and support professional development across the electrical team.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum of 20 years’ experience as a time-served electrical engineer.
* Strong background in water industry projects (clean water, wastewater, pumping stations, treatment works).
* Proven experience managing commissioning teams or acting as technical authority for Tier-1 or framework contractors.
* HNC / HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Strong communication and coordination skills across client, design, and site interfaces.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend client sites as required.
