Band 6 Liaison Psychiatry Practitioner
The Liaison Psychiatry Service based at Macclesfield Hospital is recruiting for a Band 6 Liaison Psychiatry Practitioner.
Responsibilities
* Provide prompt response for assessments and support treatment delivery within the ED 4‑hour targets and NHS England response times.
* Assist with risk assessment and management of patients presenting to A&E or admitted to hospital.
* Support education and training of acute care staff on mental health issues, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Mental Capacity Act and the Mental Health Act.
* Contribute to the Urgent Care Mental Health First Response Services, including Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Teams, Street Triage Services and the Crisis Line.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience working with patients with complex mental health difficulties.
* Background in mental health nursing, social work, learning disability or occupational therapy preferred.
* High quality risk assessment skills and a compassionate approach to patients and families/carers.
* Ready to receive robust supervision and support for professional development.
