About the Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Purchasing Department as a Buyer. This role is ideal for an ambitious and proactive individual looking to make an impact in a fast-paced, global supply chain environment. You will take ownership of an established supplier base, predominantly supplying a range of components used in general assembly. The position offers a mix of supplier management, sourcing, negotiation, and strategic supply chain development to support business growth and innovation. Key Responsibilities Source and negotiate new products to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and new machine options. Work proactively with the supply chain to drive efficiencies and cost reductions. Develop and manage supplier and commodity strategies. Maintain supplier records ensuring compliance with ISO procedures, statutory requirements, and business processes. Ensure adherence to supply chain compliance (including Preferential Origin, CBAM, and UK/EU Sanctions). Identify, manage, and mitigate supply chain risks. Person Specification Essential Criteria Strong IT skills – proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data analysis. Understanding of ERP systems and how they integrate with physical operations. Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and production environments. Awareness of compliance requirements within a global supply chain. Ability to build and develop supplier relationships. Strong cost analysis, negotiation, and management skills. Excellent planning, communication, and leadership abilities. Strategic thinker with a proactive, decision-making mindset. Proven experience in NPI implementation and project/production planning. Desirable Criteria Meticulous, conscientious, and commercially aware. Confident, motivated, and adaptable under pressure. Strong internal and external communicator with stakeholder focus. Experience across a wide range of supply chain concepts and mechanisms. Understanding of Non-Malleable Grey Iron Castings and ability to read engineering drawings. Knowledge of Microsoft AX (preferred but not essential).
