A dynamic and entrepreneurial private investment firm is launching a new buy-and-build platform in the Cybersecurity sector. The firm has a track record of building market-leading businesses through a combination of strategic acquisitions and organic growth. Since 2020, it has managed multiple funds and completed over 70 acquisitions across a range of sectors.
Founded by former entrepreneurs with backgrounds in management consulting and investment banking, the firm brings a hands-on, operator-led approach to scaling businesses.
The Business
This firm is committing approximately £35 million in equity to the new platform, with plans to complete over 30 acquisitions in the next five years. The goal is to create a business with over £30 million in annual EBITDA and a significant international presence following an initial UK-focused consolidation.
A Chief Financial Officer is sought to help lead this ambitious growth plan. This individual will work closely with the executive team to shape the finance function, support acquisitions, and guide the business through rapid expansion. An M&A Director will also be appointed to support the acquisition strategy and will report into the CFO.
This is a high-impact role suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced, early-stage environments and is eager to help build a leading Cybersecurity business from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead financial planning and strategic input into key business decisions.
* Manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow to ensure financial health.
* Design and implement scalable finance systems and processes to support growth.
* Oversee deal execution including due diligence, valuation, and post-acquisition integration.
* Deliver timely and accurate financial reports, investor updates, and fund valuations.
* Ensure financial operations meet regulatory requirements and establish robust risk management.
* Build and develop a high-performing finance team aligned with the company’s long-term vision.
Candidate Profile
* Experience as a CFO, Finance Director or in a senior finance leadership role within a high-growth business
* Deep knowledge of corporate finance, financial strategy, and performance management
* Strong M&A experience, including integration planning
* Ability to build finance functions from scratch, including systems and controls
* Big 4 audit background preferred
* Professionally qualified
* Familiarity with Cybersecurity, Technology or Software sectors
* Highly commercial, with excellent analytical, forecasting, and stakeholder management skills
* Independent, proactive, and capable of leading in an evolving and entrepreneurial environment
* Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels and drive results under pressure
