Malvern International is entering an exciting new phase of growth. Listed on AIM and backed by public investments, they are seeking to leverage over 20 years of experience as they expand into the Pathway sector and seek to grow their EFL provision. Malvern International supports students in their development and preparation for success at university and/or their professional careers, through University Pathway programmes, direct entry and English Language courses.
The group comprises of two UK based English language schools – Malvern House Manchester and Malvern House London, Language in Action Junior Summer Programmes, Innovate Summer Academy, Global Futures in Oundle, an embedded on-campus International Study Centre at the University of East London and an off-campus NCUK International Study Centre situated in Malvern House London.
Main duties
* Drive and deliver annual student recruitment and revenue targets across European markets, working closely with the Global Sales Director (ELT) and regional colleagues to design and execute a high-impact sales strategy.
* Develop and implement a regional recruitment strategy, identifying high-potential markets and aligning market activities with overall business goals.
* Support the Global Sales Director (ELT) in the co-management of the Latin America recruitment team, ensuring alignment with global objectives and contributing to the overall performance and development of the team.
* Take ownership of student recruitment and market development for the CIS region, creating tailored strategies to engage partners, generate leads, and grow enrolments across these countries.
* Spearhead agent network expansion through acquisition, onboarding, training, and performance management, ensuring the agent ecosystem aligns with Malvern’s quality standards and growth objectives.
* Manage the full student recruitment funnel, from lead generation through to conversion, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high conversion rates and an outstanding applicant experience.
* Establish and maintain productive commercial relationships with a wide range of partners, including recruitment agents, government scholarship bodies, international schools, and pathway providers.
* Develop and maintain regional channel partnerships, including negotiating contracts, performance metrics, and joint-marketing initiatives.
* Provide accurate sales forecasting and regular performance reporting, utilizing CRM data to monitor conversion metrics and pipeline health. Deliver market insights to inform product development, pricing strategy, and portfolio alignment.
* Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing regional team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and results orientation.
* Ensure regional sales strategies align with global marketing plans, collaborating with Malvern’s Marketing team to localize campaign delivery, content, and messaging.
* Contribute to the strategic planning process through market intelligence, competitor analysis, and forecasting of trends in student mobility, visa policy, and educational preferences.
* Coordinate with Sales Operations, Admissions, and Compliance teams to streamline the recruitment process, optimize CRM usage, and ensure all student and partner activities are fully compliant with internal policies and external regulations.
* Liaise with the Finance team to ensure effective budget planning and cost management. Support financial functions related to invoicing, commission processing, and collection of tuition fees.
* Support post-enrolment transition and student experience by coordinating closely with teaching centres and student services, ensuring clear pre-departure communication and seamless handover from recruitment to delivery.
* Promote cross-selling opportunities across Malvern’s full range of education services and work collaboratively with the University Partnerships Division to strengthen regional performance across all business unit.
* Represent Malvern International at regional and global recruitment events, partner meetings, and industry conferences, acting as a senior ambassador for the brand.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate is a dynamic and experienced international education professional with deep knowledge of European markets. They will be commercially minded, data-driven, and capable of managing complex stakeholder relationships across borders and cultures.
* Minimum 3+ years’ experience in international student recruitment, business development, or higher education partnerships, with a proven track record of delivering growth across diverse geographies.
* Strong network of relationships across the European education sector, particularly with agents, international schools, and government scholarship bodies.
* Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage performance, and mentor junior staff in a fast-paced, target-oriented environment.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and inspire confidence with stakeholders at all levels.
* Entrepreneurial mindset with a strategic outlook and the ability to pivot quickly in response to market changes.
* Strong understanding of digital recruitment tools, CRM systems (preferably Salesforce), and data analytics.
* Flexibility to travel internationally for up to 3 months per year, with the possibility of increased travel in the initial 12–18 months.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent; a postgraduate qualification or training in international education, business, or marketing is desirable.
* Fluent in English; knowledge of additional European languages is a plus.
