Central Development and Design Team Co-ordinator, BBC Studios Global Entertainment - BBC Studios
About Us
BBC Studios is a world-renowned, British creative driven content studio and channels & streaming business, with a reach that touches audiences in every corner of the globe.
Responsible for some of the most iconic and popular entertainment shows on the planet, BBC Studios Global Entertainment is a power-house of creativity and quality. The department has three divisions: International Production and Formats, Factual-Entertainment and Events, and Entertainment & Music; all offering unparalleled experience and expertise. We create premium quality formats with extensive global reach and limitless potential: shows like Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing with the Stars, Antiques Roadshow and the Great British Bake Off.
About the Role
Creativity meets organisation in this role. Are you as excited by original entertainment shows as you are by new tech that can optimise documents and workflow? Do spreadsheets and diary management systems interest you just as much as new entertainment TV trends and talent?
We're looking for a highly-motivated and pro-active co-ordinator to provide organisational and creative assistance to our London-based central development and design team. This is a unit that delivers vital creative and strategic support and definitive pitch materials that leave a lasting impression. In a market where pitch documents are expected to rival best-selling books, and 90-second sizzles need to pack the punch of a Hollywood blockbuster, this team ensures the delivery of ideas and creative assets that are best in class.
You'll be able to demonstrate previous experience in an administrative role - such as diary management and multi-tasking demands in a busy team, with an impeccable eye for detail, and the ability to stay cool under pressure. We want to hear your enthusiasm for how you've mastered workflow and the programs and apps you've used to stay ahead in a role like this. We're looking for someone who can show they've mastered these keys skills, but in addition, have an insatiable interest and curiosity for entertainment programming. If you race to new shows the second they drop, get majorly invested in the characters you binge-watch, and you're close to completing YouTube, this is a role that will expand your skillset through exposure to a busy development environment, where you'll see how ideas are formed and shaped depending on the demands of the market and specific clients. You will build on your knowledge of trends and talent spotting, develop a thorough understanding of the industry and increase your confidence to contribute ideas which are commercially and creatively astute. Based in our London Television Centre, this role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to surround themselves with the best in the business.
Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the head of department, your main responsibilities include:
* Providing one-to-one administrative support to the head of department; including diary management and booking travel as well as other ad-hoc tasks.
* Providing general administrative and editorial assistance to the team; supporting their output by ensuring that all project deliverables such as pitch decks, sizzles and treatments are completed and delivered in line with client requirements. This will include researching topics, materials and trends, viewing cuts, contributing to creative brainstorms and general ideas development.
* Keeping all process-tracking documents updated, including deliverables required, budgets and deadlines, ensuring that all key information is current.
* Co-ordinating both external and internal meetings and producing and preparing support documents (including Powerpoints)
Are you the Right Candidate?
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
* Experience of providing administration assistance, particularly diary management.
* Organised with ability to prioritise own workload effectively, to co-ordinate multiple activities and conflicting demands to ensure tight deadlines are met.
* Ability to work well under pressure, to exercise initiative, work unsupervised and to judge when further reference is necessary
* Effective communication skills with the confidence to work well with range of people at all levels.
* Strong Attention to Detail
* A passion for Entertainment programming and a broad understanding of TV production workflows, including ability to interpret production paperwork
* Ability to research, gather, analyse, collate and present information as required.
* Proficient computer skills with strong experience of Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and an enthusiasm to adopt new systems and packages to optimise documents and workflow eg Adobe Photoshop, Cap Cut, Monday.com etc.
