West Berkshire Council is seeking an experienced, dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our Adult Social Care Service. You will be working in the West Locality team – serving Newbury, Hungerford and surrounding villages. The role * Undertaking assessments of individuals' care and support needs * Developing and implementing care plans, ensuring the provision of appropriate services * Conducting reviews and reassessments to ensure ongoing support meets the changing needs of service users * Collaborating with other professionals and agencies to coordinate holistic care * Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults at risk The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications, skills and attributes * Qualified Social Worker with relevant professional registration * Experience in adult social care, preferably within a local authority setting * Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures * Strong assessment and decision-making abilities * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with service users and their families * Effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload Our offer to you: * We offer flexible working wherever possible between the hours of 07.00-21.00 * We offer hybrid working wherever possible working 40% in the office * Access to a wide range of training and development opportunities * Local Government Pension Scheme * Death in service benefit * Family friendly policies * A range of local discounts * Wellbeing Programme including Employee Assistance Programme and employee benefits * You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 29 days per annum (plus public holidays) rising by an additional 5 days after 5 years’ service
