Finance Manager – Reporting

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager – Reporting to join a well-respected and progressive public sector organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional with strong technical knowledge to play a key role in financial planning, reporting, and compliance.
The Role
As Finance Manager – Reporting, you will be responsible for providing professional financial management advice and support across the organisation. You will take the lead on preparing statutory accounts, monitoring budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and good practice.
This is a highly impactful role where you will be supporting senior managers, contributing to key financial decisions, and ensuring the organisation meets its statutory and performance obligations.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the annual accounts closure programme, including production of statutory accounts, notes, and working papers.
* Provide professional support and guidance on setting, monitoring, and managing capital budgets and forecasts.
* Produce accurate and timely monthly capital monitoring reports.
* Ensure completion of statutory returns for government departments, agencies, and funding sources.
* Collate information for and prepare annual precepts.
* Maintain responsibility for National Fraud Initiative (NFI) portal submissions and PCI DSS audit requirements.
* Support the Financial Accounting & Compliance function with internal and external audit queries.
* Deputise at meetings in the absence of senior finance colleagues when required.
* Contribute to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment, ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and legislation.
About You
* Qualified (or part-qualified) accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting knowledge.
* Experience in financial reporting, budget monitoring, and statutory accounts preparation.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to communicate effectively and provide financial guidance to non-financial colleagues.
* Knowledge of public sector finance or local authority accounting would be an advantage, but not essential.
