Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking Support Workers to work on a temporary basis with a local authority in Durham. These roles support service users who live in their own homes, helping them to live as independently as possible. There are a range of shifts available including potential night work.
Overview:
You will provide person centred support to individuals within their home environment, promoting independence while ensuring safety and wellbeing. The role involves supporting daily living tasks and working in line with individual care plans.
Main Duties:
* Support service users to live independently within their own homes
* Assist with daily living tasks including personal care where required
* Support with medication in line with care plans and training
* Use equipment safely to move and handle service users
* Promote independence, dignity and choice at all times
* Observe and report changes in service users wellbeing
* Maintain accurate records in line with local authority requirements
* Work in accordance with safeguarding, health and safety and care standards
Essential Criteria:
* Experience working in a care or support role
* Knowledge of safe moving and handling practices
* Experience supporting with medication or willingness to be trained
* Willingness to work a range of shifts which may include night shifts
* Enhanced DBS certificate
* Full UK driver's license with access to own vehicle
