About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Construction Technician to join our Transport Development Planning Team in East Sussex. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping safe, sustainable highways and estate roads across the county.
You'll ensure that highway works carried out by developers comply with relevant specifications and legal agreements (Section 38 and Section 278), and you'll also oversee licensing for minor works under Section 171 of the Highways Act.
What You'll Do
Inspect and monitor highway works to ensure compliance and minimise disruption.
Provide expert advice on legislation, policy, and technical matters to internal and external stakeholders.
Manage your own workload, including complex cases with competing deadlines.
Support customers and resolve escalated queries and complaints.
Contribute to policy development and service improvements.
Deputise for the Assistant Manager when required.Progression to SS10 offers exciting opportunities to:

About You
We're looking for someone with:
Experience in Planning, Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or GIS.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage varied workloads.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
A collaborative approach and commitment to customer service.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and data analysis.Knowledge of project management principles is desirable for SS10 progression.
