Our client is seeking a Payroll Team Leader to oversee the daily management of payroll operations, ensuring compliance with statutory, legal, and contractual requirements, and that payments are processed accurately and timely each month.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supervising the Payroll Team to ensure accurate payments, timely production of payslips, statutory returns, and reports.
* Serving as the escalation point for internal and external payroll queries.
* Managing workload distribution among Payroll & Pensions Officers, providing cover during absences, and supporting peak periods.
* Administering multiple pension schemes, ensuring proper reporting and timely resolution of queries.
* Ensuring compliance with pension and statutory requirements such as monthly pension reporting and auto-enrolment.
* Processing monthly payroll, including post-payroll reporting and ledger uploads.
* Reconciliation of month-end payments and submissions to HMRC and pension providers.
* Collaborating with auditors and providing necessary documentation.
* Staying updated on relevant regulations and sharing updates with the team.
* Working with other divisions to improve payroll processes and efficiency.
* Assisting in payroll system development and efficiency improvements.
* Acting as Deputy for the Payroll Manager when needed.
* Performing additional duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
