The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Project Manager to join our team. This role is ideally suited to a highly motivated individual at the early stages of their career who is looking to gain structured, hands‑on experience in project management within a fast‑paced environment. You will work closely with experienced project managers and gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, including commercial aspects of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple projects from inception through to completion
* Support the preparation of project programmes, schedules, and cost plans
* Monitor project progress against timelines, budgets, and quality standards
* Coordinate with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery
* Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, risk registers, and change logs
* Attend site visits and project meetings, taking minutes and tracking actions
* Support procurement processes and contract administration activities
* Assist with the preparation, review, and submission of quotes and tenders
* Develop a commercially minded approach, supporting cost control and value engineering where appropriate
* Ensure adherence to health, safety, and compliance standards at all stages of the project
Candidate Profile
* Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline (desirable but not essential)
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* High level of attention to detail and problem‑solving ability
* Commercially aware, with an interest in understanding project costs, pricing, and tendering processes
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with project management tools is advantageous
* A proactive, can‑do attitude with a genuine interest in developing a career in project management
