Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to work as an Analyst within the Maritime Data Assessment Centre (MDAC), part of the Defence Intelligence organisation, supporting key MOD operational outputs. The role is advertised at 37 hours per week during training, followed by rostered shift working. You will work 24/7/365 providing a range of operational assessment capabilities to a selective customer base within the UK and overseas.
Key Responsibilities
* Integrate into the MDAC organisation and fulfil the role of on‑shift assessment analyst.
* Process maritime data from various sources and conduct routine assessments for acoustic elements.
* Maintain a daily log of assessments.
* Create messages and reporting, including during silent hours.
* Provide verbal briefings and assurance to generated assessments.
* Commit to self‑development of assessment ability.
* Contribute towards organisational‑level learning and development.
* Occasionally act up to cover absence or leave within the team.
* Complete the publication of desk‑level reports to leadership.
* Undertake line‑manager taskings commensurate with the role and grade.

Candidate Requirements
Essential:
* Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Attention to detail.
* Good numeracy skills.
* Excellent IT skills, including Outlook, Word and spreadsheets.
Desirable:
* Prior experience of intelligence or acoustic analysis.

Nationality & Clearance
This is a Reserved position; only UK nationals may apply and no visa sponsorship is offered. Successful candidates who do not hold the necessary UK security clearance will be offered a provisional job offer subject to a vetting process. Clearances may take several months to complete.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: £27,650 per annum. The Ministry of Defence contributes £8,010 towards the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
