Job Description
As an Senior Assistant Buyer for ASOS, you’ll play a key role in developing amazing product and building fashion-forward, commercial ranges that deliver against sales and margin targets. You’ll work closely with your Buyer, Design, Technical and Merchandising teams, as well as suppliers and brands, to create ranges loved by our 20-something customer. This is a fast-paced, creative role where you’ll influence trends, negotiate with suppliers, and help shape the Topshop Topman product offering.
The Details
You’ll support the Buyer in sourcing and developing products, oversee fittings and sample approvals, and help create a fashion-forward range with constant newness. You’ll also manage the critical path, build strong supplier relationships, and contribute to department strategy by identifying risks and opportunities.
1. Negotiate cost prices and delivery dates while maintaining excellent supplier relationships
2. Work closely with Design and Merchandising teams to build ranges, analyse sales data and agree actions
3. Present insights on trends and competitor activity to inform decisions
4. Influence trading decisions and optimise sales performance
5. Support Fashion with Integrity initiatives and ethical sourcing considerations
6. Oversee training and development of Buying Assistants within the team
7. Champion Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies across everything you do

Qualifications
We'd love to meet someone who
8. Has previous Fashion Buying experience as an Senior Assistant Buyer in a fast-paced, global Retailer or Brand
9. Lives and breathes fashion and is passionate about the product
10. Has a strong understanding of 20-something culture and the ASOS customer, and is able to spot the latest trends relevant for them
11. Is super organised, able to use their initiative and to work in a high-pressured environment
12. Has great attention to detail to ensure that all the important details such as selling price, shipment dates and product attributes are correct
13. Has the ability to build strong relationships with other Retail teams and suppliers alike
14. Effectively demonstrates the ASOS values - Authentic, Brave, Creative and Disciplined
15. Is able to communicate and present clearly and effectively to all levels
16. Has experience of using relevant trading systems and MS Office
