We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Debt Recovery Accounts Assistant. This is a full-time, permanent position near Edinburgh city centre, with a 35-hour workweek, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. The salary ranges from £22,500 to £24,000.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Manage day-to-day financial operations for our letting business, ensuring rent payments are collected and paid to clients.
2. Oversee various property support processes, handling multiple activities across the office.
3. Manage the debt recovery process, communicating via email and phone with tenants and colleagues.
4. Ensure communication with tenants in rent arrears to facilitate payment collection in line with tenancy agreements.
5. Update systems to record rent arrears cases and liaise with landlords and tenants regarding payment plans and next steps.
6. Create reports for managers and department heads to monitor open cases and tenant responses.
7. Arrange weekly review meetings and door-step visits to discuss arrears with tenants.
8. Handle cases with the Housing & Property Chamber First-tier Tribunal for Scotland and participate in case management discussions.
