Project Engineer Job Description
Our client, a leading local engineering company, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team. This position offers a great opportunity for career advancement and professional growth.
Main Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with the Engineering Team to develop project plans and budgets, ensuring milestones are met.
2. Source suppliers based on bill of materials and engineering specifications; liaise with design engineers on alternatives and variations.
3. Purchase equipment in compliance with budget and company procedures.
4. Distribute documentation and drawings to subcontractors, ensuring correct revisions for fabrication or assembly.
5. Visit subcontractors' premises regularly to coordinate and review production.
6. Work with the design team to meet specifications and conduct quality checks prior to handover.
7. Perform, document, and clear snags during FAT tests and quality checks before products leave for site.
8. Coordinate site preparation activities including surveys, haulage, safety documentation, lifting, commissioning, testing, and client handover.
9. Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor projects following the document control process.
10. Communicate with clients and project participants to interpret needs and present solutions.
11. Manage contracts, including responses to compensation events, early warning notices, and quotes.
Candidate Requirements
* Engineering qualification with relevant experience in a related discipline.
* Knowledge of SolidWorks / AutoCAD and project experience.
* Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
* Availability to travel across the UK.
