The Role ofAcademy Player Support Officer
ThePlayer Support Officer will be an integral part of themultidisciplinary team within the academy and support the deliveryof the academy welfare strategy. The roles will have theopportunity to lead a robust holistic player support programme thatcreates the best possible environment for our Youth Development andFoundation Phase players and their families. You will also workwith Academy and Club staff to ensure that Brentford FC is carryingout its duty of care in the running of its Academy.
MainAccountabilities
* Buildand maintain excellent and communicative relationships with allplayers and parents by understanding each players backgroundascertaining and providing the appropriate support they need fromthe club
* Help players and their familiesprepare for effective transitions throughout their academy journey.This will include inductions as well as exit plans for the YouthDevelopment Phase
* Support staff in variousacademy stakeholder meetings. This can include parent complaintprocedures school meetings and further pastoral meetings
* Be an active member of multidisciplinary staff groups andcontribute to player progress meetings as appropriate
* Support the planning implementation and review of theacademy life skills programme for Players Parents and HostFamilies
* Effectively log manage and recordplayer interactions and issues
* To lead andmanage the Parent and Player voice initiatives disseminatinginformation back to Senior Management
* Engagewith planning of tours and tournaments for the foundation and youthphase age groups
* Liaise with the recruitmentdepartment regarding all trialist arrangements in the foundationand youth phases to ensure a highquality player and parentexperience
* To deliver and coordinate personaldevelopment sessions with a focus on transitions for players acrossall phases to enable them to become highly developed in a widerange of areas that will support their journey as a football playerand independent young person
* To work with thewider Player Support team to develop and implement comprehensivetransition programme as players move from through the age groups orexit the Academy
* To ensure that relevantprocesses are in place and continually reviewed to allowtransitions to be managed and coordinated across all thephases
* Work collaboratively within the AcademyWellbeing Team to provide proactive solutions and promote theacademy safeguarding standards for children & young peopleand ensuring that club policies and procedures are adhered to atall times
* Acting as firstpoint of contact for issues and concerns raised by players andparents
* To ensure that any concerns youobserve or are raised with you in your role are shared with theSafeguarding Team through appropriate channels
* Work alongside the Clubs safeguarding department toensure best practice and Premier League standards aremet
* Support the wider Player Support team asand when required and reasonable this may involve travel toalternate club locations
* To support the clubin line with audit requirements
* Other dutiesand responsibilities as required by your linemanager
