Overview

Senior Procurement Business Partner - Occupational Health at Medigold Health

Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday).
Location: Hybrid to Northampton, NN4 7BF. Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum.

As a Senior Procurement Business Partner, you’ll take a leading role in shaping and delivering strategic procurement across the organisation. You’ll lead on sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management, and complex contract negotiations to ensure value for money, compliance, and commercial effectiveness. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams, align procurement activity with wider business goals, use data and market insight to inform decisions, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement. You’ll promote sustainable and ethical procurement practices across the supply chain, ensuring suppliers meet standards and support ESG commitments. This is a key leadership role where you’ll lead and develop a high-performing procurement team, embed best practices, and ensure procurement supports broader business objectives.


Responsibilities

* Develop and execute forward-looking procurement strategies aligned with the organisation's long-term goals, financial targets, and operational priorities.
* Champion value creation by driving strategic sourcing initiatives that enhance cost efficiency, supply chain resilience, and business agility.
* Lead the evolution of procurement as a value-adding function, ensuring integration with wider business planning and commercial decision-making.
* Oversee the end-to-end supply chain, ensuring governance, compliance, and consistency across procurement policies, procedures, and systems.
* Manage key supplier relationships, building partnerships that deliver innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
* Lead contract negotiations with a focus on achieving best-in-class value, risk mitigation, and service quality.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to anticipate and meet internal demand, aligning procurement strategies with project and departmental objectives.
* Promote ESG-focused procurement, embedding sustainability and governance into supplier selection and performance reviews.
* Embed ESG principles into sourcing strategies, ensuring suppliers meet sustainability, ethical, and governance standards; score suppliers on ESG performance and integrate into procurement decisions.
* Drive supplier performance through effective contract management, KPI tracking, and continuous service reviews.
* Own and maintain supplier contract templates and ensure documentation is version-controlled and compliant with policy requirements (e.g., OneTrust).
* Monitor market dynamics and emerging trends to inform strategic sourcing and secure competitive advantage.
* Develop procurement analytics, dashboards, and reports to enable data-driven decision-making and support business cases.
* Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing procurement team with a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Lead procurement transformation initiatives to modernise processes, increase automation, and improve procurement maturity; promote agile ways of working.
* Resolve supply issues with urgency and strategic foresight to minimise business disruption.
* Work with external procurement consultants to support the in-house team, ensuring their work adds value and aligns with goals.


Qualifications

* Essential
* Experience leading a procurement or purchasing team with significant supplier management experience.
* Experience in healthcare purchasing or procurement.
* Knowledge of contracts, invoicing, and negotiation of terms; track record delivering commercial or procurement projects.
* Time & diary management; ability to manage own time in a hybrid environment and lead a remote team.
* Demonstrable experience managing internal and external stakeholder relationships.
* Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) – MCIPS.
* Experience of managing teams.
* Desirable
* Bachelor’s degree.
