Job Title: Area Sales Manager Roofing & Waterproofing Systems
Industry Sector: Building Surveyors, Specifiers, Health authorities, Education, Universities, Social Housing, Architects, Facilities Managers, Refurbishment and Specialist Roofing & Waterproofing Sub Contractors
Areas to be covered: South - ideally based centrally
Remuneration: £50,000-£65,000 + £30,000-£40,000 Uncapped Commission

Location: Bristol/Cardiff area preferred; South of England coverage as required

Responsibilities
* Field sales position selling a range of liquid roofing systems for waterproofing or fully built up roofing systems, including waterproofing, insulation, roof lights, edge trims and VCL (vapour control layer).
* Develop specifications with building surveyors as the primary target; engage with architects, health authorities, education and other major specifiers.
* Spend time with specialist waterproofing & roofing sub contractors to ensure projects are won and completed professionally and to client satisfaction.
* Achieve year one target circa £300,000+; target circa £1.3m.
* Maximise profit through effective price and discount management; focus on refurbishment projects.
* Work on projects ranging from 200 m2 to 4,000 m2; indicative pricing £30-£40 per m2 for waterproofing and £70-£80 per m2 for full built up roofing systems.
* Engage clients including local authorities, retailers, manufacturers and large residential projects.
Qualifications & Skills
* Must have specification field sales experience with building surveyors.
* Ability to write specifications and conduct CPD seminars.
* Open to various product backgrounds such as concrete repairs, flooring, waterproofing and roofing systems.
* Specific knowledge of liquid applied/flat roofing, waterproofing, insulation, roof lights, edge trims, VCL is not essential.
* Ideally able to utilise existing customer contacts with building surveyors and potentially architects.
* Must have some technical capability; intelligent, empathetic and driven.
* No job hoppers; ideally no more than 3 roles in the last 6 years unless there are very good reasons.
* Ability to hunt for new projects while building and retaining relationships; energy and enthusiasm to sell a solution rather than relying on price (up-selling capability).
* Not afraid of heights.
