Cleaning Operative
Reports To: Cleaning Manager
Location: Gunwharf Quays Shopping Centre
Contract Type: Full time
Hours: Full time, including weekends
Salary: £12.60 per hour
Job Purpose
To ensure that designated areas are cleaned to a high standard in line with site requirements and health & safety regulations, providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all users.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out cleaning tasks to the highest standards as per the cleaning schedule.
* Ensure all areas such as offices, washrooms, mall areas, corridors, and communal areas are cleaned and maintained.
* Replenish consumables such as toilet rolls, soaps, and paper towels.
* Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with training and company procedures.
* Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
* Follow company and site‑specific health and safety procedures at all times.
* Ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored correctly after use.
* Comply with site security procedures, including wearing the correct uniform and identification.
Person Specification – Essential
* Previous cleaning experience (preferred but not essential – training provided)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good attention to detail
* Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
* Willingness to undergo training
* Knowledge of COSHH regulations
* Experience using cleaning machinery (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuums)

Additional Information
* Uniform and PPE will be provided.
* Full training will be given on induction.
* Must be eligible to work in the UK.
