Are you a practical, creative, and resilient educator with a passion for hands-on learning? *Teenage Kicks*, a specialist independent school for pupils with EHCPs and diverse learning needs, is looking for an inspiring *Design and Technology (DT) Teacher* to join our team from September 2025. This is not your average teaching role. Our DT provision is rooted in real-world skills, vocational learning, and helping young people unlock confidence through practical success. We deliver projects in *woodwork*, *basic electronics*, and *computer-based design* — no CAD/CAM machines required, just strong relationships, a safe environment, and purposeful teaching. *What You’ll Do:* * Deliver engaging DT lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils in small classes * Lead practical projects in woodwork, electronics, and digital design * Adapt lessons to support students with SEMH needs and EHCP outcomes * Foster a calm, structured workshop environment * Inspire pupils to create, solve problems, and take pride in their work * Contribute to our inclusive, trauma-informed school culture *What We’re Looking For:* * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) * Experience delivering DT in a school or vocational setting * Strong skills in hand tools, basic circuits, and digital design platforms * A calm, relational approach to behaviour and classroom management * Creativity, patience, and a genuine belief in second chances *What We Offer:* * A supportive and collaborative team environment * A practical curriculum with flexibility and purpose * A meaningful opportunity to make a difference every single day * Access to CPD and professional development tailored to specialist provision * Term-time working (plus 5 INSET days) Teenage Kicks is a registered independent school committed to the safeguarding of children and young people.
