and were looking for a highly commercial, data-driven and customer-focused Head of Ecommerce Trading to lead the next chapter of our online growth story.
This role can be offered on a hybrid basis from our Croxley Park office in Watford.
About the role
As Head of Ecommerce Trading, you will take ownership of the performance, optimisation and day-to-day running of our websites. With responsibility for delivering sales and profit growth targets, youll develop and implement strategies that drive conversion, improve customer journeys, and create seamless shopping experiences.
Youll be the key connector across multiple functions
from Marketing and Buying & Merchandising to Supply Chain, Operations and IT
ensuring that products, promotions, content, and service are aligned to our commercial goals.
This is a high-impact role, where your insight, leadership and trading expertise will directly influence the success of our digital channels.
What the role involves:
Online Trading & Performance
Deliver online sales and profit targets across H. Samuel and Ernest Jones websites
Lead the creation of budgets, forecasts and trading plans to maximise sales, conversion and AOV
Drive actionable insight, KPI reporting and optimisation strategies to improve results
Customer Experience
Ensure websites reflect brand values through storytelling, inspirational content and exceptional shopping experiences
Collaborate with Digital Marketing, SEO and Customer teams to grow traffic and customer engagement
Site Management & Optimisation
Oversee website content, navigation, product placement and promotions
Manage launches of new products, seasonal campaigns and promotional events
Partner with UX and Product teams to continuously enhance site functionality and customer journeys
Merchandising & Product Ranging
Partner with Buying & Merchandising to optimise online product ranges
Ensure product content is accurate, compelling and commercially effective
Manage onsite product presentation and visual merchandising to drive conversion
Commercial Leadership
Monitor competitors and market activity to inform strategy
Use data and analytics to uncover opportunities, optimise performance and shape future plans
Contribute to Signets digital roadmap, working closely with the Director of Customer, IT and Digital Product teams
Team & Stakeholder Leadership
Lead and develop the Ecommerce Trading team, setting clear goals and driving capability
Build strong relationships across internal teams and external partners
Ensure collaboration, agility and best practice across all digital trading activity
About you:
Were looking for an ambitious, commercially astute leader who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
Youll bring:
A proven track record in ecommerce trading leadership, ideally in a multi-brand retail environment
Strong commercial acumen with experience managing online P&L and delivering growth strategies
Expertise in ecommerce KPIs, forecasting, reporting and using data to drive decisions
Experience in customer acquisition, retention and conversion strategies
A collaborative approach with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
Strong leadership skills with a passion for developing high-performing teams
Resilience, agility and a hands-on approach to driving results
