Role Overview
A self‑employed Personal Assistant is required to support an individual in the Wigston area to access the community and increase social involvement.
Responsibilities
* Support them with getting out to local area and further afield for walks, visiting places such as coffee shops and other local shops, accessing groups, and engaging in low‑level exercise.
* Assist with school runs during term times—additional 5 hours per week split into 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon to walk the child to and from school.
* Be present at the individual's home address in Wigston at 8.20 am to walk the child to school for 8.40 am and at the school for pick‑up at 3.20 pm to walk the child home; note there is a friendly dog at the property.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Driving licence and access to a car.
* Empathy, responsibility, reliability, patience, friendliness, and respect for others’ privacy, dignity, values and beliefs.
* Knowledge of functional neurological disorder (FND), depression, and hypothyroidism; the individual is diagnosed with these conditions.
The role is subject to interview, references and a DBS check (paid for by funding authority if you don’t already have a certificate).
