An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role includes overseeing credit-related activities such as managing risk, developing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based position at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience in a busy credit control environment,
* Possess strong financial knowledge,
* Be capable of problem-solving,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the main contact with Credit Insurers, monitoring limits, submitting claims, and negotiating renewals,
* Organize and lead monthly meetings with senior management,
* Provide management reports on debts, debtor days, collections, and other ad-hoc reports,
* Manage cash collection for all Group companies,
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are efficient and adhered to,
* Proactively manage the Credit Control Department and team,
* Handle credit applications and related documentation,
* Make major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Control credit limits and pursue claims involving litigation or insolvency,
* Set and manage credit policies and credit notes,
* Assess risks for existing and new credit applicants,
* Maintain strong relationships across departments,
* Review sales Terms and Conditions,
* Visit customers and sites as needed.
