Overview
NHSL 227862 Occupational Therapy Support Worker (LI) – Permanent, part-time role with 3 positions available at 24.66 hours each.
Responsibilities
* Support the Occupational Therapists (OTs) working across a variety of in-patient hospital wards with minimal supervision.
* Implement agreed OT plans as prescribed by the qualified OT.
* Gather background information, carry out a variety of practice sessions and rehabilitation tasks with patients, and make onward referrals including adaptive equipment and technology.
* Demonstrate awareness of the role of Occupational Therapy in the acute hospital setting in your application.
* Commit to weekend working as part of the 5 over 7 day pattern in the Occupational Therapy team at Western General Hospital.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Compassionate with good communication and time management skills; able to work well within a team.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision to implement OT plans and contribute to patient care.
* Understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy in an acute hospital setting.
