SEMH Teaching Assistant - Primary PRU Longsight, Manchester Full-Time | September Start Are you passionate about supporting children who need additional emotional, social, and behavioural support to succeed in education? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Longsight from September. This is a full-time role supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them engage positively with learning and develop essential life skills. The Role Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. Build positive, trusting relationships with children who may display challenging behaviours. Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and interventions. Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour strategies. Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. What We're Looking For We welcome applications from candidates with experience in: SEMH or SEND settings. Primary education. Youth work. Residential care. Mental health support services. Support worker or key worker roles. Behaviour mentoring. Team Teach training is desirable, but not essential. Full training and ongoing professional development will be provided for the right candidate. The Ideal Candidate Will: Be patient, empathetic, and resilient. Have strong communication and relationship-building skills. Be confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner. Be committed to supporting vulnerable children to achieve their potential. Have a genuine interest in working within alternative provision. What We Offer Competitive daily rates of pay.
