Legal Assistant – Collateral Warranty Assistant / Legal Assistant
Kennedys is seeking a motivated and organised Collateral Warranty Assistant / Legal Assistant to join our Professional Liability team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong interest in construction and professional indemnity matters who enjoys both administrative and legal support work.
You will play a key role in supporting the teams work on collateral warranties, appointments, and related documents, as well as assisting fee earners in managing case files, correspondence, and client documentation.
This role would suit a paralegal or legal secretary looking for their next challenge.
Team
Kennedys professional liability team deals with a range of general insurance litigation cases, including professional indemnity claims against various professionals such as solicitors, barristers, accountants, insurance brokers and construction professionals. The practice covers a broad range of Insurance Litigation and works in close collaboration with Kennedys Insurance teams in London and across all UK offices, representing the same clients.

Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with the review, tracking, and management of collateral warranties, appointments and professional indemnity documents.
* Drafting and maintaining document registers, ensuring accurate records of warranties and contracts.
* Liaising with clients, insurers and external solicitors regarding document execution and progress updates.
* Supporting fee earners with file management, document preparation and client communication.
* Conducting legal research, preparing bundles and assisting with billing and administrative tasks.
* Helping maintain compliance with internal processes and client service standards.
Required Experience
* Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal or Document Administrator within a law firm or in‑house legal team.
* Familiarity with collateral warranties, construction documents or professional liability work is advantageous.
* Excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident working with document management systems.
* A team player with a proactive attitude and a strong sense of responsibility.
