About the Role
We're looking for a friendly and proactive Café Assistant to support the daily running of our onsite café at Ravenswood Village. You'll help prepare food, welcome customers, and contribute to a warm, inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels valued, whether they're residents, staff, visitors or volunteers.
This is a varied role involving food preparation, kitchen hygiene, customer service and stock handling. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced, people-focused environment and take pride in good food and great service, we'd love to hear from you.
Your Day-to-Day
You'll play a key role in the smooth running of our café by:
• Preparing light, healthy meals like soups, sandwiches and jacket potatoes
• Supporting business lunches and catering for larger events
• Keeping the kitchen and café clean, safe and compliant with food hygiene standards and Kashrut laws
• Operating the till, taking orders, and serving customers
• Recording income and expenditure, helping with food orders and maintaining kitchen records
• Handling feedback and supporting individual dietary plans
• Collaborating with colleagues and volunteers to create a high-quality, welcoming space
