Medical Science Liaison – Biopharma (West Coast), Marlborough
This role covers the West Coast area including San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, focusing on urology and women’s health.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Science Liaison to integrate scientific expertise with brand strategies, fostering relationships with key opinion leaders and regional clinicians to support Sumitomo Pharma's portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
1. Identify and build relationships with thought leaders and priority customers in urology and women’s health.
2. Exchange scientific and technical information relevant to the company's portfolio.
3. Manage relationships with key opinion leaders and educate them on research and development projects.
4. Gather competitive information to support clinical and marketing teams.
5. Initiate and monitor investigator-sponsored studies and develop publication timelines.
6. Identify and evaluate investigators for trials and support clinical trial communications.
7. Develop advocates and participate in advisory boards and educational programs.
8. Represent the company at scientific meetings and maintain expertise through literature review and conference attendance.
9. Lead projects within the MSL organization and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* 5-10 years of scientific or clinical experience in Urology/Women’s Health.
* 0-3 years industry experience; 1-3 years MSL experience preferred.
* Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) preferred; candidates without may require additional industry experience.
Core Competencies
* Strong project management and leadership skills.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
* Understanding of drug development and lifecycle.
* Willingness to travel over 50% within the US.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary ranges from $151,700 to $189,600, with additional benefits including bonuses, 401(k), health insurances, unlimited PTO, holidays, and sick leave. Total compensation depends on experience and qualifications.
