Provides dedicated support to the Employee Relations team, assisting in delivering high-quality service to front-line and support centre colleagues. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in core employee relations activities within a shared service environment, making it an ideal stepping stone for individuals seeking to start a career in HR.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Understanding regulations related to right to work checks in the UK, Ireland, and Guernsey, and supporting activities such as eligibility checks, visa renewals, appeals, and employer sponsorship visas. Training line managers on RTW validation using Rightcheck.
2. Demonstrating understanding of people policies and providing advice on matters such as maternity, adoption, paternity, shared parental leave, compassionate leave, dependency leave, and force majeure leave.
3. Applying knowledge of attendance policies and managing cases related to unauthorised absence, SOSR, AWOL, short-term and long-term absences, occupational health cases, reasonable adjustments, and ill-health terminations.
4. Supporting employment legislation compliance, including working time regulations and flexible working arrangements.
5. Managing cases via the Case Management system, ensuring timely resolution, escalation of issues, and risk management.
6. Providing administrative support such as scheduling video calls, attending meetings, drafting invitations and outcomes, managing referrals, and diary management.
7. Ensuring key case metrics are met, including response times, risk reviews, and decision quality.
8. Collaborating with various stakeholders including Employee Relations Specialists, managers, occupational health, legal services, and governing bodies.
While prior Employee Relations experience is not necessary, some HR experience or relevant qualifications are desirable. Full training will be provided to develop practical knowledge and skills.
Ideal candidates will be great listeners, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, be highly organized with good administrative and IT skills, and able to build relationships and influence colleagues at all levels.
Desirable skills include any HR-related qualification.
