We are seeking a proactive HR Advisor to join our team at Coventry Hospital. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert HR guidance and support to the Key Account Director and Heads of Services, ensuring effective people management across the site.
You will take ownership of all HR activities, including performance management, employee relations, policy interpretation, and supporting staff engagement initiatives.
Job Description
This is a hands‑on, operationally‑focused role where you will work closely with managers to influence decisions, foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, and ensure compliance with both legal requirements and company standards.
You will also play a key part in supporting organisational change, managing employee relations matters with discretion, and acting as a trusted HR partner to colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on performance management, employee relations, and policy interpretation.
* Manage employee relations cases, including investigations, grievance and disciplinary processes.
* Support service heads to ensure HR processes are followed consistently.
* Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and reference checks.
* Maintain accurate HR records and employee databases.
* Coordinate and deliver HR‑related training programs.
* Support employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture.
* Provide guidance on compensation, benefits, and HR best practices.
* Stay current on employment law and legislative changes to ensure compliance.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* Strong HR advisory experience with the ability to influence managers.
* Solid understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; confident in customer‑facing situations.
* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
* Strong problem‑solving and conflict resolution abilities.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* HR qualification or working towards one in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Flexible, detail‑oriented, and professional approach.
