We keep pushing boundaries, whether that’s in the brewhouse, with sustainability, or in the great outdoors.Get to Know This RoleThe Quality Assurance Analyst 1 or 2 will contribute to and perform routine testing and analysis of product and processes throughout the brewery. This role collaborates internally to report quality findings to brewery team members as appropriate. In addition to the day-to-day quality duties, a key focus of this role is to recommend actions that serve to protect our brand quality.

Please note: This is a 3rd shift position (9:30pm-6:00am) Sun - Thur. +15% shift differential

Quality Analyst 1

What You Will Do

1. Accurately analyze in-process and finished products and report any out of specification results/trends to lab supervisor/production staff to initiate corrective action
2. Maintain product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, product specifications, and quality procedures; complete tasks thoroughly and accurately to ensure compliance with quality standards
3. Participate in production (brewing & packaging) processes, delivering superior internal customer service; isolate and contain product that does not meet quality standards
4. Responsible for delivering on actions to out of specification test results and quality issue investigation
5. Communicates effectively to brewery stakeholders via production tools such as: pass down, Microsoft Teams, radio, etc.
6. Calibrate, maintain and repair lab and field equipment to ensure the instruments are operational and reliable at all times
7. Escalates urgent issues in a timely manner; knows when to ask for guidance/help
8. Demonstrates technical skills and abilities needed to effectively and fully complete tasks within assigned position
9. Utilizes technical knowledge for problem solving and troubleshooting
10. Utilizes routines, standard work, and established processes
11. Attention to detail and capable of focusing on the task at hand while paying attention to what is happening around them
12. Capable of discerning urgent versus non urgent information; responds accordingly
13. This role is responsible for production and support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) System as defined in the SQF Code. There will be Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety and Food Security Training as required by Local, State, Federal and SNBC policies. All duties will be completed in a manner that is consistent with all aspects of Company Safety Rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF). Employees shall report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

14. Bachelor's Degree in a science or food related discipline preferred or any combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved required
15. 1 year Experience in quality assurance and quality control in a production environment preferred
16. 1 year Previous experience in a brewery or manufacturing environment preferred
17. 1 year Experience in some or all of the following areas: Food/beverage microbiology, Glass and packaging material quality & integrity testing, Development and revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs), Food/beverage sanitation & chemical hygiene, Independent work & teamwork, Gas chromatography, Workflow optimization, Root cause analysis or other complex problem-solving techniques, Statistical Process Control (SPC), HACCP, internal audits, and good manufacturing practices (FSMA, cGMP), Risk assessment and risk management, Continuous improvement activities and methods preferred
18. Skilled in data analysis and communication
19. Ability to organize and prioritize work
20. Must understand good laboratory practices
21. Ability to follow, SOPs, testing protocols and assays

Quality Analyst 2

What You Will Do

22. Accurately analyze in-process and finished products, appropriately escalate out of specification results/trends and recommend/take action on corrective/preventative action
23. Maintain product quality through contributions to good manufacturing practices, product specifications, and quality procedures; complete tasks thoroughly and accurately to ensure compliance with quality standards
24. Contribute positively to production (brewing & packaging) processes, delivering superior internal customer service; isolate and contain product that does not meet quality standards
25. Lead quality and seek to protect and elevate the brand at all times
26. Contribute to lab equipment reliability programs; calibrate, maintain and repair equipment to ensure instruments are operational and reliable
27. Proactively identify and prioritize improvements that drive quality and minimize waste and inefficiency without compromising or missing the day-to-day needs of the quality department
28. Communicate effectively across departments and time zones; provide concise, organized, and complete information/recommendations
29. Is able to prioritize and take action independently and with limited supervision
30. Draws conclusions from information; effectively informs necessary individuals of decision path and recommends actions
31. Contributes to the Sierra Nevada safety culture by recommending safety improvements and modeling safe behavior
32. Synthesizes technical knowledge of area to understand how objectives, tasks, job duties, or problems influence other departments
33. Capable of explaining the "why" behind "what" for routine job tasks; understands how individual job tasks fit into the broad picture of what we do
34. Demonstrates awareness of department impact on business throughout the company and greater community
35. Demonstrates a clear understanding of relevant KPIs; is able to link actions taken to results achieved
