Exciting Opportunity for a Highways Project Manager in the East Midlands
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highways Project Manager to support the delivery of a busy programme of carriageway and footway works across the East Midlands.
This role will play a key part in helping to drive the delivery of highway schemes, focusing on programme management, coordination, and supporting an in-house team. The successful candidate will be someone who can integrate well into an existing team, bring the right attitude, and help push programmes forward across a range of highway construction works.
The main duties of the Highways Project Manager include:
·Supporting the delivery of carriageway and footway construction and maintenance schemes.
·Producing and managing works programmes to ensure schemes are delivered on time.
·Working closely with an in-house delivery team, providing day-to-day support and coordination.
·Managing and liaising with contractors to ensure efficient and compliant delivery of works.
·Driving progress on site and ensuring teams are meeting programme expectations.
·Assisting with resource planning and allocation across multiple schemes.
·Monitoring progress and reporting on programme performance.
·Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and relevant regulations.
The Highways Project Manager will have key experience in:
·Highway construction and maintenance schemes, particularly carriageways and footways.
·Programme management and the ability to drive delivery on live schemes.
·Working within or alongside local authorities (desirable).
·Strong man-management skills with the ability to motivate and push teams.
·Experience working with contractors and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
·Understanding of NEC contracts (desirable).
·A proactive attitude and ability to integrate quickly into an existing team.
This role offers hybrid working, with a blend of office and site-based responsibilities. The contract is initially for a period of 12 months, with strong potential for extension due to the ongoing scope of works and future projects.
