About the Role
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to deliver specialised clinical services for individuals facing mental health challenges. The role focuses on AOD screening, assessment, treatment, referral, and supporting families, in collaboration with healthcare teams. It aims to enhance integrated care for mental illness and substance use, while building capacity within the AOD sector.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide expert knowledge in Mental Health and AOD, applying evidence-based nursing interventions.
2. Develop and manage comprehensive care plans, including medication initiation and adjustments.
3. Deliver brief non-pharmacological interventions such as supportive psychotherapy, psycho-education, and other psychological approaches.
4. Create and deliver training on AOD referral, screening, assessment, and treatment to support organisational capacity building.
5. Refer clients to appropriate community services for ongoing support and collaborate with other care providers, including GPs and AOD specialists.
Skills & Experience
1. Current Nurse Practitioner registration, including Masters level qualifications or equivalent as deemed by AHPRA.
2. Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in a senior nursing role.
3. Experience working with individuals with complex mental health disorders and co-morbidities.
4. Proven ability to collaborate with multiple services, fostering cooperation, respect, and shared philosophy.
