Job Description: Independent Social Worker (Form F Assessor) Who You Are You are an experienced and qualified social worker with at least three years of experience, particularly in fostering services. You should be registered with Care Council for Wales, living within a 40-mile radius of Cardiff. You have a strong understanding of child care legislation, care planning, and child protection. Your experience includes working with Looked After Children, conducting in-depth assessments, and preparing comprehensive reports. What the job involves The role involves carrying out all parts of a full BAAF Form F Assessment on prospective foster carers. This includes initial assessment visits, multiple home visits, evaluating applicants’ backgrounds, strengths and weaknesses, and completing detailed reports. You will liaise closely with Cardiff Children’s Services, present your assessments to their panel, and ensure all assessments meet professional standards. Regular supervision and consultations are key components of the role, as are face-to-face visits with applicants.
