Overview
You will play a key role in supporting and delivering high-quality coaching and development for male and female student-athletes aged 16-19, while contributing to the expansion and sustainability of the USP Storm Football Academy programme. Working closely with the Storm Coordinator, you will help strengthen player pathways, develop competitive opportunities, and engage local communities and schools.
Main Purpose of the Role
To support the delivery and growth of the USP Storm Football Academy, coaching and developing players across USP College and within the wider community. You\'ll play a key role in building pathways for both male and female players, strengthening links with local clubs and organisations, and ensuring the Football Academy continues to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality coaching sessions for the USP Storm Football Academy.
* Grow and sustain participation across male and female football programmes.
* Support player pathways through appropriate competition structures, clubs, and coach development.
* Assist the Storm Coordinator in building partnerships with local clubs, schools, and national organisations.
* Help to plan and deliver holiday football camps, community programmes, and tours.
* Promote inclusion, encouraging participation among women, girls, disability groups, and under-represented communities.
* Analyse team, league, and participation data to identify opportunities for growth.
* Assist in managing facilities and ensuring high standards of delivery.
* Contribute to the organisation of leagues and competitions within education.
* Actively uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health & safety standards.
About You
You'll be an enthusiastic and dedicated football coach with a passion for developing young people both on and off the pitch. You'll combine technical coaching ability with excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills. A flexible and positive approach is essential, along with a commitment to inclusion and continuous professional development.
The Right Candidate
Essential:
* Minimum FA Level 1 Coaching Qualification.
* Experience coaching 16-19-year-olds within a Football Academy/college environment.
* Strong understanding of football development and player pathways.
* Ability to work with partner organisations to deliver football development objectives.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* A proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible approach with a genuine passion for youth development.
* Competent IT skills (Microsoft Office).
* Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
* Degree in a relevant subject (2:2 or above).
* High-level coaching or playing experience.
* Knowledge of football structures nationally and locally.
* Experience working in an educational setting.
* Project management skills.
