Family Solicitor
Location: Leicester City Centre (Office-Based)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (Negotiable)
About the Role
We’re working with a well-established and supportive law firm based in Leicester City Centre that is looking to expand its family law department. This is an excellent opportunity for a Family Solicitor or CILEX with 2 - 3 years PQE who is passionate about family law, advocacy, and delivering high-quality client care.
You will handle a mixed caseload of legal aid and privately funded matters across all areas of family law, with opportunities for courtroom advocacy and career development.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage your own caseload of family matters, including:
* Divorce & separation
* Financial remedy proceedings
* Injunctions
* Children matters (public & private)
* Conduct advocacy at hearings and appointments.
* Provide clear, compassionate legal advice to clients.
* Draft applications, statements, court documentation, and correspondence.
* Work collaboratively within a supportive team environment.
* Opportunity to train as an accredited family mediator as part of the firm’s expanding mediation services.
Requirements
* Family Solicitor or CILEX with 2 - 3 years PQE.
* Strong advocacy skills and confidence attending hearings.
* Experience with both legal aid and private family law matters.
* Ability to manage a mixed caseload independently.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and client care skills.
* A proactive and empathetic approach to client work.
