Quality and Curriculum Improvement Lead

Salary: £42,839 – £46,142 per annum

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Hours: 36 hours per week (flexibility required)

Location: Lisburn (with travel across sites as required)

About the role

Reed Further Education is working in partnership with a large and well-established Further and Higher Education provider to recruit a Quality and Curriculum Improvement Lead.

This is an influential role supporting quality assurance, continuous improvement, curriculum performance, and inspection readiness across Further and Higher Education provision. Working closely with senior leaders, Heads of School, and curriculum teams, you will play a key role in strengthening quality processes, reducing administrative burden on schools, and embedding a strong culture of continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

As Quality and Curriculum Improvement Lead, you will:

* Coordinate and monitor the annual quality assurance calendar across all curriculum areas
* Support internal and external quality assurance activity, including awarding body, inspection, and audit processes
* Analyse curriculum performance data (e.g. retention, achievement, progression) and produce high-quality reports to inform improvement planning
* Support Schools with self-evaluation, inspection readiness, and quality documentation
* Review and track actions arising from verifier, examiner, inspector, and audit reports
* Schedule and support Progress Boards, Examination Boards, and Student Case Conferences
* Act as a key point of contact for awarding bodies, supporting validation and revalidation activity
* Lead on Transversal Skills registration, monitoring, and standardisation activity
* Promote consistency, compliance, and best practice across Further and Higher Education provision

What we’re looking for

Essential criteria

* Level 5 qualification (or equivalent)
* At least 3 years’ experience in quality assurance or quality improvement within a Further or Higher Education setting
* Experience supporting inspections, audits, or quality reviews (e.g. awarding bodies, QAA, ETI, DfE)
* Strong data analysis and reporting skills, including working with dashboards and performance data
* Experience scheduling and coordinating Progress and Examination Boards
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports and action plans for senior stakeholders
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines under pressure
* Full driving licence and access to suitable transport

Desirable

* Experience using MIS, QA, or performance management systems
* Familiarity with awarding body regulations (e.g. Pearson, CCEA, OCN, City & Guilds)
* Knowledge of HE regulations and the UK Quality Code
* Experience supporting curriculum planning or performance improvement activity

All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
