Mechanical Fitter
Salary: £33,000 + overtime at 1.5
Location: Yate, BS37
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hour week, 8.00 - 4.30pm
Duration: Permanent role

An opportunity to join a friendly manufacturing team in Yate as a mechanical fitter, pump fitter, and equipment assembler. This role is in a workshop environment building equipment for a range of customers. Reporting to the workshop supervisor, you will receive full training on the company's range of equipment.
The mechanical fitter, pump fitter, equipment assembler role involves:
1. Assembling high-volume water pump systems and associated components.
2. Following technical drawings and build specifications.
3. Completing work in a timely manner to meet the equipment build timeline.
4. Extensive use of conventional hand and power tools.
5. Basic electrical wiring and connection of pre-built wiring looms and connectors.
6. Functional testing and fault finding to ensure compliance with quality standards.
7. Completing necessary QC paperwork following successful test procedures.
8. Identifying and reporting any non-conformities or potential improvements in the assembly process.
The mechanical fitter, pump fitter, equipment assembler position would suit a candidate with the following skills:
1. Good mechanical fitting experience with previous equipment build and assembly.
2. Any pump fitting or hydraulic experience would be of particular interest but not essential.
3. Basic electrical wiring and connection skills.
4. A mechanical apprenticeship or technical training and qualifications would be of interest, but candidates with time-served experience are also suitable.
5. Previous experience with cranes or lifting gear would be useful but not essential.
6. Attention to detail and ability to problem solve independently.
7. Previous experience with forklifts is of interest but not essential.
