An exciting opportunity has arisen within Forth Valley Royal Hospital for an enthusiastic and highly motivated nurse to join the OPAT nursing team.
The OPAT Team provide specialist services to adult patients with a range of complex infection related conditions on an Ambulatory and Hospital at home pathway.
Whilst patients are predominantly seen through our Ambulatory service based in our Day Medical Unit at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, we are excited to be expanding our service to include the ability to see more patients at home, providing hospital-level care for these patients with complex infection related conditions in their own home supported by the Hospital @ Home team.
Staff will be supported by the current OPAT and Hospital @ Home team and will work flexibility to provide service delivery to both teams on a rotational basis.
OPAT and the Hospital at Home model is designed to facilitate early supported discharge of in patients from Acute Care and prevent hospital admissions of patients with complex infections in the community, so creating a virtual ward.
OPAT Virtual wards are an area of rapid development within the NHS and a priority for Scottish Government. We are looking for an individual who possess a level of post registration experience which enables them to confidently and competently provide the care required to allow the safe management of patients with complex infections disease in either setting.
The post holder will require to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team.
This will involve working across professional and organisational boundaries in partnership with other acute care nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals.
The applicant should possess the ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads, remain focused, and be flexible in an extremely busy environment with the ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
