Job description
Our client, a leader in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking an experienced ILS Engineer for a permanent role. The position offers a flexible location, with options to be based in either Romsey or Woking, and involves working with cutting-edge technology and systems within the Defence industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Delivering the ILS service support across key business functions to ensure they meet whole life cost targets and project/service profitability
2. Developing and delivering project ILS strategies, plans, and reports in conjunction with relevant service and project deliverables
3. Working with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to provide product and system supportability reporting and assurance
4. Managing the service and support ILS responses to Customer Requests for Proposals (RFP), Invitations to Tender (ITT), and Contract Specifications
5. Supporting business growth as an ILS SME for bids, product development, and project ILS meetings
6. Supporting the engineering team in the production of FMECA's, RBD's, and MTBF generation
7. Providing high levels of confidence in meeting both internal and external customer ILS support requirements
8. Informing portfolio and project managers of relevant risks, issues, and progress in ILS functions
Job Requirements:
9. Significant experience in systems integration and ILS within the Defence sector
10. Experience contributing to bid responses, understanding customer requirements, and providing ILS/IPS plans
11. Experience in the service support of low volume, high value, products and systems in a highly regulated environment
12. Knowledge and experience of applying through-life support standards such as DEF STAN 00-600, 00-40, 00-42, Mil Std 217F, and KiD
13. Experience working with customers in a matrix managed team
14. Strong knowledge of MOD support frameworks and their application as a supplier
15. Degree or HND/HNC qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering, or relevant experience in the Defence Industry
