Progress Tutor – 37 hours per week, 41 weeks per year

Actual Salary – £25,467 - £27,001

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives? Are you eager to support their educational journey and help them achieve their full potential?

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Student Support Service as a Progress Tutor. These full-time, 41-week positions offer a rewarding role for individuals keen on working with young people and potentially pursuing a future in teaching.

As a Progress Tutor, you'll oversee the progress of approximately 240 students across 10 groups, deliver engaging group tutorials, and provide personalised pastoral support and guidance. You'll collaborate with students to set and monitor targets related to achievement, retention, attendance, and progression, while also developing pastoral resources to support their learning and wellbeing.

You will promote a culture focused on growth, purpose, and belonging, helping students achieve their potential and find their best fit for the future. This involves engaging relevant stakeholders within and outside the college to provide comprehensive support addressing social, emotional, and mental health barriers that students may face inside and outside the college.

The ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under pressure while managing multiple deadlines. You should be self-motivated, a strong team player, and proficient in IT. A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their success is essential. Experience or qualification in mental health first aid or related areas is desirable, especially for supporting vulnerable students with mental health needs. The ability to remain calm and de-escalate challenging situations is also important.

While a graduate degree is desirable, we welcome applications from individuals with relevant experience and a commitment to making a difference. A full training package will be provided to support your development. Join our vibrant, enthusiastic team and contribute to a community dedicated to helping young adults thrive.

You will be part of a team committed to providing outstanding support to maximize students' learning progress.

Interviews will be held during the week commencing 7th July 2025.

Based on application quality and quantity, we may shortlist, interview, or close this vacancy earlier than the deadline. Early applications are encouraged.

The safeguarding of students is paramount and integrated into all our activities. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment.
