The Role
Are you passionate about detail and driven by engineering excellence? Join Howden – a global leader in manufacturing critical air and gas handling equipment – as a temporary Quality Control Inspector at our Renfrew facility for 6 months.
In this hands-on, high-impact role, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring our engineered components meet exacting standards, helping to deliver high-value projects that keep essential industries running.

What will you do?
As a QC Inspector, you’ll be the gatekeeper of quality. You will:
* Perform visual and dimensional inspections on components and fabrications to ensure they meet engineering drawings and technical specifications.
* Verify functional testing and ensure it meets project criteria.
* Calibrate precision measuring and inspection devices.
* Compile and maintain inspection reports and records to meet company standards.
* Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams, as well as customers, to support project delivery.
* Travel (up to 20%) for onsite inspections, sometimes at short notice, including international assignments.
What do you bring?
An Ideal Candidate Would Likely Have The Following Profile
* Strong practical experience with precision measuring instruments or a formal qualification in Metrology
* Proven ability to interpret and work with technical drawings, particularly with medium to large fabrications.
* Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and good judgment in complex inspection scenarios.
* Confident communication skills – written and verbal.
It Would Be Beneficial To Have The Following
* Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT), visual inspections, and dye penetrant inspection (DPI).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially spreadsheets and databases.

Our Benefits Package
We are offering a starting salary of £37,500 (pro-rata) for this role. The role is day-shift Monday - Friday, and some overtime may be required, which is paid x1.5.
